Stop the pendeltåg chaos

Do you live in Stockholm, and do you use the commuter train, pendeltåget? If so, you know how hard it is to arrive on time for work, school and other important things in life, since the commuter train traffic is constantly disrupted. Are you tired of electrical failures, signal failures and faulty trains? We are tax payers, and we have the right to a functioning public transportation system. But today, the commuter train traffic network is in disarray.

The root problem is the privatisation of the Swedish railway network. Private companies have been allowed to operate in the public transport system. There isn’t enough maintenance of the railway network, and companies like MTR make dangerous decisions in order to maximise profits, like doing away with the pendeltåg train attendants, tågvärdarna. Without tågvärdar, not just safety and security is in peril, but also the accessibility. We think public transport should be available to everyone! It’s time to speak up.

Our demands:

• No more pendeltåg chaos
• Safety before profits – reinstate the train attendants
• Kick out the private companies from the public transport system
• The climate crisis is getting worse – make public transport free

We need an organised persuasion of the Region Stockholm Assembly, regionstyrelsen, and the parliament, riksdagen, who share the responsibility for the situation, and there needs to be many of us. Join us!
